Hi folks! It’s Friday (technically), and so it’s time for our first March update!
In honor of Gauntlet heading for the home stretch (just a few more chapters to go!), it has an amazing spot on our cover this month, art courtesy Romy-chan, who totally nailed it with this one. You show ‘em, Clio!
We had a lot of fun trying to think of a good tag line for this cover as well (“Take a Chance on me?” “No.”) I’m really pleased that we managed to come up with something at least sort of classy. Go team!
If you haven’t been following Gauntlet up until now, here’s your chance to catch up! For the next two weeks ALL CHAPTERS are out from behind the pay-wall, so run don’t walk to www.sparklermonthly.com to catch up on what Clio’s been up to in this mysterious world where she’s found herself trapped.
Our subscriber exclusive for the month is a Storytelling 101 lesson, courtesy of Lianne, our prose chief. Aside from being great advice, it features a completely precious chibi illustration of Sachi from Tokyo Demons, courtesy of rem! Check it out! (Sachi is the cutest, and I swear it’s not just my megane fetish talking!)
I got to do this month’s cover art for Sparkler Monthly!
I keep saying this, but sorry for being so inactive on this blog! I’ve been really busy, so I don’t really have anything interesting that I can post at this moment.
I’m really sorry for making you wait for your sketch cards. I really wouldn’t have taken this many commissions at once if it hadn’t been to help Sjors, but I didn’t expect I’d be this busy either.
However, I’m going to finish your cards and send them to you all this month, March. There is a mailbox just a few minutes away from where I live now, so I’ll be able to send finished commissions more frequently than before.
Thank you all for following/visiting/supporting/liking my blog and my art! It means a lot to me!
A sketchbook page I never finished coloring. The Green Man I drew is inspired by the info from The Element Encyclopedia Of Signs And Symbols; I wrote down some of it.
The feathered thing with dragonfly wings is a creature that reappears in my dreams from time to time. Their feathers can mimic the color of their environment, kinda like chameleons, but animals seem to be able to spot them even so.
I’m working on his coat now and I’ve started on his hair as well. You can also see a pair of Apoxie hands I’m working on. They are so tiny omg, why do I do this to myself.
Look at what my sister is doing, it’s amazing!
Hello followers, I hope you’re all doing well. As some of you might know or have guessed already, I’m moving to Holland. And soon too. In a few hours from now actually.
To keep it all short: Tonight I will arrive in Holland and start taking care of my grandparents. My grandmother is sick and will be treated in the hospital this week.
Message to those who commissioned me:
Due to all that’s going on right now, plus the fact my hands aren’t 100% okay yet, it might take me some time to finish all the commissions. However I’m doing my best to get them done as soon as possible, and will post pictures to keep you updated. Thank you for your patience!
(commissions are closed right now, I’ll open them again when I can)
Thank you everyone for your support!

Rebecca (head of audio) will be answering questions all month about what kind of stories we’re looking for, scriptwriting tips, and anything else you want to know about audio dramas.
Submissions are open until the end of February. This is a paid writing job.

NEW SERIES DEBUT!
Today, we’re excited to announce the first chapter of our new prose series, Dusk in Kalevia, written by Emily Compton and illustrated by Onorobo! Dusk in Kalevia is an alt-history story with a supernatural bent, full of intrigue and a little romance—we hope you give it a try!
Secret agent Toivo Valonen is an angelic embodiment of hope living on earth in the guise of a human. In the year 1960, he embarks on an undercover mission in the Communist state of Kalevia, allied with a rebellion against the government. Unfortunately, the government has a secret weapon of their own: Demyan Chernyshev, a dark angel in the employ of the KGB. And just as Toivo brings hope to humans, Demyan spreads fear.
Also, last week’s Tokyo Demons chapter is out from behind the paywall! Click here to read chapter 7 part 1—this is a big chapter for anyone who’s been following Tokyo Demons, so we hope you like it!
